The University's current public liability policy is valid from noon April 1, 2018, until noon April 1, 2019.

We expect to finish the procurement process of the policy for the next term by March 30, 2019.

However, all property insurance companies have ceased to offer the “non-event public liability policy with employer's liability endorsement” since April 2016.

Personal safety and property damage of the University's staff and faculty members are no longer covered by the campus-wide public liability policy.


To enhance the protection of our staff and faculty members, each division must cause the coordinator and collaborative partners to purchase “additional insurance with doubled coverage” based on even and risk attribute when “holding events,” “subcontracting venues,” “renting (leasing) venues,” or “conducting experiments with risks” on the campus, and provide similar insurances as applicable for the liabilities during the event (including employer's liability).
